ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Freshman Breanna Stewart scored 17 points and No. 2 Connecticut beat No. 14 Purdue 91-57 on Saturday night for the Paradise Jam tournament title.

Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis had 15 points for UConn (5-0) before leaving with just over 2 minutes left after taking what appeared to be an inadvertent elbow to the head. The Huskies had four players in double figures.

Connecticut, which also beat Wake Forest by 61 points and Marist by 42 in the tournament, was expecting a tougher game from the previously undefeated Boilermakers (5-1). But the Huskies jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never trailed.

The defending Big Ten champions were blown out despite shooting 13 of 22 from 3-point range. Courtney Moses led all scorers with 24 points, hitting six of her eight shots from behind the arc. KK Houser added 16 for the Boilermakers.

LOS ANGELES — Nikki Greene scored 21 points and matched a career best with 20 rebounds, and Penn State overcame a 17-point first-half deficit to win the Cal State Northridge tournament.

Maggie Lucas scored 14 of her 23 points in the first half for the Lady Lions (5-0). Alex Bentley added 19 points.

Penn State held Northridge (3-2) scoreless for a 6:30 span over both halves to turn a 41-26 deficit into a 43-41 lead with 16:32 to play. The Matadors had gone on a 25-10 run to take a 33-16 lead in the first half.

Marta Masoni had a career-best 22 points for Northridge. Ashlee Guay scored 15 and Camille Mahlknecht had 13 rebounds.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Jasmine James had 17 points and six steals, and Georgia forced 24 turnovers.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-0) held New Mexico to 29 percent shooting. The Lobos (5-1) had just 15 field goals for the game.

Jasmine Hassell scored 15 for Georgia, which carried a 40-17 lead into halftime. Reserve Merritt Hempe had nine rebounds.

Sara Halasz scored 14 points for New Mexico, and Caroline Durbin had 12 points and nine rebounds. But no other player on the Lobos scored more than seven.

Georgia led 20-5 10 minutes into the game.

BERKELEY, Calif. — Layshia Clarendon scored 20 points, Gennifer Brandon added 13 points and 13 rebounds and California won the Cal Classic title.

Talia Caldwell had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Bears (5-0), who shot 50 percent (27 of 54) from the floor en route to winning their own tournament for the eighth time in the last 10 years.

Sugar Rodgers scored 20 points and Andrea White had 15 for the Hoyas (4-2).
